Dave van Reenen and Glywnnis Wells, the owner-operators of MADIBA, have been partners for over a decade and together they have had a number of successful business ventures. Both are passionate about sailing, fine food and wines. They have had over six years experience of chartering in the Caribbean and are the most experienced team on a Leopard catamaran. Their experience is vast and they’ll be able to make sure you get to see the best and the most exciting parts of the islands.

Dave has a sailing pedigree developed over decades of professional yacht racing and cruising in the USA, South America, Europe, the Caribbean, east African coast and Indian Ocean islands. A qualified Yacht Master, Dave was Managing Director of a successful Advertising and Public Relations consultancy. Well read and with an infectious zest for life, he is particularly fond of the classics and jazz.

Glywnnis has owned two top restaurants in Cape Town, South Africa and a catering business for which she was the chef. Her clientele were mainly the legal fraternity, other businesses and families on the weekends. She is happiest preparing seductive flavours by using the freshest ingredients aboard Madiba. Her passion for travel and food experiences has taken her to many interesting and varied destinations. She’d love to introduce you to new and exciting eating experiences. She enjoys hiking, snorkeling and has twice completed the world’s most strenuous 90 kilometer ultra-marathon. Her sailing experience includes an ocean crossing to Madagascar and many sea miles spent in the Caribbean sailing the entire island chain.
